Language Buddy for Koreans Learning Indonesian

Indonesian Language Buddy

I have been a language buddy to KOICA’s World Friends Korea volunteer in Indonesia. For six weeks, I prepared the materials and practiced with the volunteer to improve their communication ability in Indonesian. The materials prepared every week were catered to the volunteer’s needs. The lesson was focused on conversational Indonesian with a supplementary cultural lesson to help the newly-dispatched Korean volunteer adapt to the local’s culture.

Also, I helped Korean students participating in GTE Academy polish their academic Indonesian skills through tandem learning sessions. GTE Academy is a global internship program hosted by the Busan University of Foreign Studies (BUFS). The program was created to allow BUFS students to gain research experience abroad. BUFS partnered with the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) on the 3rd GTE in Indonesia.
